4/3/2023 0 Comments Leawo blu ray player problemsI tried playing some of the Halloween movies from the Anchor Bay Collection, Alien 3 from the Anthology box set, which is 20th Century Fox, and the region free UK disc of Dances with Wolves, which is MGM. I just updated the player from 1.9.6 to 1.9.7 but I'm still having the audio issues.įor the audio settings it was set to analog and I was listening with my earphones. Some titles can act very strange with their audio tracks depending on a whole bunch of factors and the disc itself.Ĭould you elaborate on the titles in question and distributor/region? Leawo is very skitzy with 1080i content, but it's also problematic with older BD titles (mainly Universal and Fox titles with BD+ including some released before 2016) and a few region locked ones (example being German Concorde BDs like Austin Powers that can freeze at random parts) even after changing the players region setting. Have you updated to the latest version of the software? IDK if you've been using an older version for a few months, but if so it would be a good idea to update it anyway.ĭid the audio cut in/out when you play those discs before trying my method? In the players audio settings, are you outputting the audio through "Analog" (if using headphones) or "Coax" (usually routes audio through HDMI to enable multi channel). I had a GTX 680 but it died a few weeks ago after 6 years of use. Both are pretty old hardware, so I wonder if that has anything to do with the aforementioned issues. I'm using an LG BH12LS35 and GTX 560 Ti outputting video through DVI. On the other hand, VLC can play BDs with external subtitles, though like CyberLink PowerDVD 9, it has a hard time playing some BDs. Also, can't seem to be able to play a BD with external subtitles for some reason, the option is grayed out. Playback itself is a bit stuttery at first, but progressively gets better as you watch. Haven't tested it out with TOSLINK maybe that'll work better. All in all, pretty impressive for something that's free.Ĭons: However, audio ouput through 3.5mm jack is very stuttery and laggy. Also, thanks to the Playlist window, you can skip all the annoying piracy warnings and trailers at the start. Pros: I find that it's able to play newer BDs that my BDP-S1 and CyberLink PowerDVD 9 (which came free with my PC's BD drive) cannot. Overall, excellent products and exceptional customer service.I just discovered it today and tested it out a bit. They don't try to scam you into purchasing another license like some other companies. I also like that they understand computer can "break" and if you have to add a new hard drive, they will reset your license so you can have the software you already paid for on the new hard drive / computer. Any issue is quickly and immediately resolved. There is no going back and forth with low level techs who don't understand the issue. When I have a problem, they respond to my email very quickly and have always provided a solution that works first time. The customer service form Leawo is one of the best I have ever come by. Playing them in Windows Media player allows my computer to still run at a decent speed while working. I find this easier than loading and running iTunes in the background which is a CPU hog. I also use the DRM removal to pull some videos and music out of iTunes that I play in the background on my computer while working. I like how I can adjust the quality level to what I want. I use the Prof Media for converting old DVDs to a digital format, and they do a perfect job at that. Leawo produces great products that actually do what they state. FINAL NOTE After this review and a further 5 emails and 2 more weeks they offered a settlement I am happy with. If you want to mail me privately you can as I will mail your company. I see you have now added the 1 year or lifetime functionality to your website but when I bought it 2 years (2 copies actually) it was not an option otherwise I would have taken it. Reply to Leawo Thank you for your response, I am impressed you gave a reply as I raised both these issues with you privately to no avail. They are a dishonourable outfit with no moral compass. They then changed their policy so you had to buy it. Also I took part in their blu ray player development which promised a free copy of the player when complete. I left feedback to this effect on their website and it was removed funny old thing. If you rebuild your PC and the software is over a year old it will not install. Effectively you are buying a one year licence. When you buy their blu ray copy software what they do not tell you is that you can only install it for one year.
